A postcard from Pete – 10/365:2013
Do you know about Pete Hindle?
You should. He’s funny, paints watercolours and is a surprisingly good house guest.
I’d like to be more like Pete. He’s got a pretty good beard that I’d emulate were it possible. But most of all he has a fantastic knack for sending awesome parcels and letters, whether they contain old science fiction novels, copies of the local, tedious newspaper or hand painted posters of Tin Tin characters.
Sometimes he tells me to expect something in the post, but other times it’s a complete surpris, like this hand painted postcard sent in a rather natty notebook envelope (better version of the clouds postcard here). Cheekily Pete addressed the letter to Pippa “Boyket”! Presumably this was to test the Austrian postal service as not only do I not officially use my married name, the name was mis-spelt. But my mother-in-law is also using the same technique of addressing packages to a mysterious Mrs B, so obviously the postal system is clued in.
I used to send more letters and quite decorative they were too – so why aren’t I sending them now? Note to self: be more like Pete.

Aww, this is too nice!
I mean, seriously, this is too nice. I might have to go kick a cat or something to even out my karma.
